Year 2: Fitnessworx Incursion

Year 2: Fitnessworx Incursion

18/02/2019

As part of our first term Inquiry unit into belonging and health the Year Two Team have organised an incursion by Fitnessworx. Fitnessworx activities develop transferable fundamental motor skills. The sessions are conducted in a safe and encouraging team-based environment and provide everyone with the opportunity to achieve success.

The aim of this incursion is to promote health and wellbeing through a series of workshops. Students will be involved in the rotational activities of dance, circus and superhero training. Fitnessworx is all about “Being AND Having Fun!”.  Students are shown that there are numerous ways to be active and they do not all revolve around traditional team sports. These more unique forms of physical activity are highly interactive and lots of fun. By providing everyone with opportunities to ‘achieve success’ Fitnessworx promotes wellbeing and resilience.

Physical activity needs to be a regular part of a child’s daily routine, to provide the foundation for a long, healthy life.

Each session will last 40 minutes and will encourage teamwork and resilience.
