All the Year 6 students will be participating in Friendly Community Day at St James the Apostle Primary School, Hoppers Crossing. This is part of the Transition Program for Grade 6s.
The Friendly Community Day will involve our Grade 6s going by bus to St James the Apostle Primary School, Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing where they will join Grade 6 students from St James, St Francis of Assisi and St Clare’s for a day of activities and learning aimed at making transition easier by getting to know students who are going to the same Secondary Schools that they are in 2019. They are grouped for the whole day with students going to the same Secondary School.
We encourage them to keep in contact with these students until February so that the first day and first weeks of Secondary School made easier as they will know familiar faces. They will also be following Secondary School style timetables, doing activities to build confidence and assertiveness, discussing how to make friends and participating in team building activities. At the end of the day, they will celebrate Mass together.
The children will be travelling to and from St James by bus. Students will need to be at school by 8.45am.
The bus will be leaving at 9.00am and returning by 3.00pm
