‘Who are we and where did we come from?’ is our key Inquiry provocation for Term 1. The students will be investigating immigration to Australia by exploring who came, why, how they have contributed to our culture along with any impacts this may have caused. We are visiting the Australian Immigration Museum to further our knowledge, seek answers to our Inquiry projects and gain an in depth understanding of the Australian culture and diversity.

When: Wednesday 27th February, 2019
Departure time: 8.45am

Students to meet in classroom at 8.30am for roll call

Where: Immigration Museum

400 Flinders Street, Melbourne

Mode of Transport: Walk / Train
Cost: NIL – The cost on this occasion will be covered by the school excursion levy.
Uniform: Sports uniform and hat
Lunch: Bring your lunch and a drink bottle
Additional requirements: Sunscreen and backpack

We would very much appreciate the assistance of some parents on the day so that we can keep our groups to a workable size. If you would like to help and have a valid “Working with Children Check” certification, which has been registered in CareMonkey, and have been through the St Peter’s Volunteer Interview process, please indicate accordingly below and your child’s teacher will contact you.  Due to the responsibility involved in supervising a group of children, you will not be able to bring along pre-schoolers.

All parents assisting with this excursion will be required to attend a compulsory briefing session on, Monday in 25th February 2019 at 3.20pm in the Grade 6B classroom.
