Year 6C Werribee Magistrates & RSL Excursion


The year 6 students will be visiting the Werribee Magistrates Court to support their learning within Inquiry.  The criminal jurisdiction of the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria hears and determines all summary offences and some indictable offences such as traffic and criminal offences. The Court also conducts committal hearings in relation to serious indictable offences that must be finally determined in the County or Supreme Courts.

6A – Wednesday 13th June

Where: Werribee Magistrates Court and

Werribee RSL

Mode of Transport: Walk / Train
Cost: nil The cost on this occasion will be covered by the school excursion levy
Lunch: Students will need to bring a packed lunch in disposable packaging to be eaten on excursion.
Uniform / Additional Requirements:  Full Winter Uniform

Small backpack, Science journal and pencil

Due to the unpredictability of Melbourne’s weather, it is recommended your child brings with them an wet weather jacket, poncho or raincoat.

Parent Helpers: 

We would very much appreciate the assistance of some parents on the day so that we can keep our groups to a workable size.  If you would like to help and have a valid “Working with Children Check” certification, which has been registered at the school office,  and have been through the St Peter’s Volunteer Interview process, please indicate below and your child’s teacher will contact you. Due to the responsibility involved in supervising a small group of children, you will not be able to bring along pre schoolers.

Parents assisting with this excursion will be required to attend a compulsory briefing session on FRIDAY 1st June at 3.15pm in Year 6 Learning Space.

In order to confirm numbers etc consent must be submitted by FRIDAY 1st JUNE.
