Whole School: Salaka Ensemble incursion

Whole School: Salaka Ensemble incursion

Salaka Interactive Drumming Tour

African Beat presents a well-structured, informative and highly interactive drumming performance by one of West Africa’s top cultural troupes The Salaka Ensemble.  “Salaka” means “Sharing” in the Ga language of Ghana. The performance immerses students in the rich culture and rhythms of Africa, in an entertaining and educational way. Best of all – it’s hands on!
Every student has a turn on the drums!

As part of the Performing Arts Program this term, students will take part in an incursion with the Salaka Ensemble on Monday the 29th July in the Parish Hall.  They will be given the opportunity to participate in a 55-minute session during which they will learn about the culture, music and dance of West Africa.  Please note that there is no cost to you for this incursion. We kindly request that students wear their school sports uniform with socks and runners on the day.  Thank you for your continued support of the Performing Arts Program
